Tenerife musings

By Joe | January 15, 2007

Sorry, been ‘off air’ for a while. Writing commissions (including being contracted to ghost write a novel) and various features have been filling the spaces around pretending to be a dragon for my two kids and battening down the hatches during our latest bout of tropical winds. The weather here definitely seems to be getting crazier - 28 C over Christmas and then gale force winds that blew the neighbours fence back to Kansas! Que pasa aqui!!

Another que pasa is why didn’t the Tenerife tourist authority let those employed in the service industry know about the ‘Tenerife Amable’ (Friendly Tenerife) campaign? You don’t get that many long faces at Aintree on National Day, and as for a welcoming attitude, a little effort wouldn’t go amiss. Come on Tenerife, those on the front line had better stop resting on their laurels and start giving holidaymakers reasons to come back. Or pretty soon there’s going to be more P45s flying around Tenerife than those colourful windscreen adverts for brothels.
