Talcum powder terror and a monster sardine - all part of life in Tenerife
By Joe | March 25, 2009
Tenerife is a strange place. But no stranger than the other islands when it comes to bizarre Canary Island Carnival antics. After partaking in the odd, yet pleasantly fragrant Battle of the Powder in La Palma, and watching a giant sardine being led to its cremation by a bunch of male, fishnet-wearing mourners, very little esle is going to surprise me this year.
Unless Ryanair actually do start charging for onboard toilet use on its flights to Tenerife; or Tenerife do get promoted to La Liga to battle with Real Madrid et al next season; or my cat Fugly finally realises that I would much prefer cash to the succession of lizard’s body parts that she drops at my feet every day as a ‘gift’.
Anyway, if you want to read more about the talcum battle or monster sardine escapade, click your little cursor right here.
